Concept to Certified Flight

Six stages, one continuous program — each stage produces the evidence the next one needs.

Stage 01

Concept & Regulatory Scoping

We define the mission, operating environment, and target regulatory regime up front — establishing the SORA risk class or equivalent framework that will govern the entire program.

Stage 02

Risk Assessment & ConOps

A Concept of Operations and specific risk assessment (e.g. SORA) establish the safety objectives, containment requirements, and airworthiness criteria the airframe must meet.

Stage 03

Design & Build to Compliance

Structural, aerodynamic, and systems design proceeds against a live compliance matrix, so every engineering decision is traceable to a certification requirement.

Stage 04

Flight Test & Data Generation

Structured test campaigns generate the performance, reliability, and environmental data the certifying authority requires — instrumented, logged, and traceable.

Stage 05

Certification Submission & Liaison

We compile the technical documentation package and act as liaison with the relevant authority through review, findings, and closure.

Stage 06

Approval, Fielding & Continued Airworthiness

Once approved, we support entry into service and ongoing continued-airworthiness obligations so the certification stays valid through the aircraft's operational life.

Pathways We Work Within

Regulatory frameworks vary by mission and geography — we scope the applicable pathway during Stage 01 rather than assuming one.

FAA (United States)

Part 107 operations, Part 89 remote ID, and UAS type-certification pathways.

EASA (European Union)

Open, Specific, and Certified category classification, including SORA-based risk assessment.

National Civil Aviation Authorities

Country-specific UAS regulations and operational authorization processes.

Industry Standards

ASTM F38 and ICAO UAS guidance applied as design and test baselines.

The Common Path

Design and build first, then approach a certification consultant once the airframe is "done." Gaps between the built airframe and regulatory requirements surface late — forcing structural rework, repeated test campaigns, and schedule slips of months or years.
